In Beginning...

I'm sitting in my pre-paid taxi last night, from the Delhi airport to my friend Laurige's flat, and it hits me...

Shit, I'm in India, for 6 months, and for the most part won't see my loved ones for a while. I was starting to question everything, as i am want to do from time to time, or all the time, as the case may be.

We get into my friend's neighborhood, but don't find the address right away. I try to call him, but it isn't working. Luckily, we ask someone and they point us in the right direction. The driver drops me off, its dark, and i can only hope that Laurige is home.

Luckily he is, along with his flatmate, Sophie and former flatmate, Wendy. Wendy, having just returned herself from France (where the three of them are from) to be treated for Typhoid, she had brought back some wine and cheese, which they graciously shared with me. It was so good. The taste of the cheese just blossomed when you added the wine. I busted out my last bar of Dagoba chocolate and there was a little Kashmiri schwag, as well. Overall, the questions disappeared pretty quick, thanks to their warm welcome.

I'm gonna stay here until tomorrow, and then head to take the overnight buss from the TIbetan colony in Delhi to Dharamsala/McLeod Ganj, where i'll be spending most of my first 4-6 weeks here.

More soon...

Location:Laurige's flat, New Delhi
